JAMS Job Scheduler V6.2 Brings Data Graphics to the Centralized Job Console

26 August 2014 – MVP Systems Software, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise job scheduling and workload automation software announced today the general release of JAMS Job Scheduler V6.2. The latest version of JAMS introduces a comprehensive suite of dashboard features that provide precise data visualizations about an organization’s enterprise workload.

JAMS Dashboards provide IT professionals with rich data graphics representing real-time statistics of scheduled batch processes and automated workflows. The charts, graphs, gauges and tables available in each dashboard are interactive, enabling users to drill down to view more granular data or filter the underlying data to look at specific agents. JAMS includes several preconfigured dashboards as well as a full-featured Dashboard Designer for creating custom dashboards. Whether customizing preconfigured dashboards or building custom dashboards, JAMS users can present workload automation statistics in a context that is easy to understand across the enterprise.

“As our customers bring an increasing numbers of jobs into JAMS, they need efficient methods of oversight” says David Kluskiewicz, VP of Marketing for MVP Systems Software. “Dashboards make it easy to translate automated business processes into concise, actionable data graphics.”

JAMS V6.2’s preconfigured dashboards include:

  • Primary Dashboard – Summarizes jobs that have run in the past 24 hours and the current load of each agent executing jobs
  • Job History by Agent – A detailed breakdown of the performance of each agent connected to the JAMS Scheduler
  • Current Load Balancing – A detailed view of the queues and resources impacting each agent
  • Advanced – A high-level view of an organization’s entire automation infrastructure
  • PowerShell – An array of performance metrics (e.g. disk utilization, CPU usage, memory usage) for the JAMS client

The Dashboard Designer is capable of leveraging not only core metrics from JAMS, but also data from external sources, such as Microsoft SQL, MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, and XML files. The extensive scope of the JAMS Dashboard Designer gives IT managers comprehensive oversight of the processes and resources needed to optimize workload automation across the enterprise.
