Every JAMS Alert contains several properties which are organized in four tab settings: Alert, Details, Events and References. Each property is listed and described based on this tab order.
This tab combines the naming and modification properties associated with the Alert.
The Alert Name property contains the unique identifier for the Alert.
This property is used to combine multiple Alerts at the Folder, Job and/or Setup levels.
Entries made in the Description property appear in menus, Views and Reports and provide a more expanded explanation for the Alert.
This property displays the user who last revised the Alert including the date and time of the modification.
This tab includes properties that allow users to define the formatting for the Alert notification.
Notify Names holds the email addresses for those users receiving the Alert notification. Use a comma to separate individual email addresses.
The Summary Text property contains the subject header for the Alert email notification and the Detail Text includes the main body of the notification.
Parsing can make Alerts more useful by including additional information about the assigned Job, Setup or other JAMS object. As shown in the screenshot below, you can use parsing within the Summary Text and Detail Text properties to provide information about the JAMS object that triggered the Alert. For example, you can use HTML tags to specify the formatting of the email notification.
This tab enables users to associate an Alert to single or multiple events.
By default every JAMS Alert in outputs as an email. However a user can write their own code to define an alternative handling method, such as posting to a Web site, text message or Intranet.
To create this custom method, you must first define a config file in the Scheduler directory that references a .Net assembly and then specify that name within this property.
This property provides an inclusive listing of events that are assigned to an Alert. Select the appropriate checkbox(es) to associate a single or multiple event(s) to the Alert.
The Reference tab is used to view which JAMS objects reference the current Alert.
This property references the particular JAMS object (Job, Setup or Folder).
Displays the name of the referenced Job, Setup or Folder object associated with the current Alert.
This property includes a description for the referenced Job, Setup or Folder object.
