Leading Financial Institution Implements JAMS in Two Days

16 JUNE 2008 – MVP Systems Software, Inc., a leading provider of automation, application, and task scheduling software, announced that a leading west coast financial institution recently implemented JAMS in two days.

For the past 5+ years, the Business Intelligence Unit was using a homegrown solution to automate more than 300 unique processes. New developers needed to be trained on the user interface since it was not very intuitive. The developers would submit the jobs over the course of the day and then have to check the following morning to ensure that the jobs ran successfully. If the jobs did not run, the developers would have to wait for the next batch window to re-run the job.

With JAMS, the developers now submit the job using JAMS’ job wizards. JAMS takes the jobs and schedules them automatically based upon priorities and resource availability. If jobs fail or hang, JAMS is set up to attempt to re-run the job a number of times before alerting on-call personnel. By the end of the second day of the implementation, all processes were moved from the homegrown solution into JAMS.

The Vice President of the Business Intelligence Unit commented, “When we evaluated job scheduling software, ease of use and scalability were the two primary factors in our decision making process. We don’t have the time or resources to spend countless hours trying to get a product implemented and our staff trained. One added benefit that came out of JAMS is the file dependency support so that we can kick off jobs based upon the receipt of a file from another division. We couldn’t be happier with our decision.”
