JAMS Job Scheduler 6.1 brings intuitive workflow controls and comprehensive auditing to complex, cross-platform workflows.

23 January 2014 – MVP Systems Software, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise job scheduling and workload automation software, announced today the general release of JAMS Job Scheduler 6.1, the latest version of its flagship workload automation solution. Driven by customer demand for automating increasingly complex workflows without scripting or investments in custom development, the company added three powerful features to manage and control scheduled batch jobs. The latest release also extends the capability of JAMS to capture audit trail details necessary for regulatory compliance.

JAMS 6.1 includes:

  • Bulk Editing – JAMS 6.1 enables organizations to react quickly to infrastructure and security changes that impact multiple definitions in their schedule of batch jobs. Bulk Editing modifies the properties of 10, 100 or 10,000 jobs in a single action.
  • Powerflows – IT departments that leverage advanced logic within the steps of their batch jobs now have an intuitive interface for deploying those jobs across the enterprise. JAMS Powerflows maintain a batch job’s source code securely within its database while prompting business users for only the variables necessary to submit the job. JAMS makes it possible to execute even the most advanced workflows without touching a single line of code.
  • Inline Workflow Controls – JAMS 6.1’s Inline Workflow Controls let organizations make ad-hoc changes to routine IT processes, without modifying master job properties. IT departments can maintain the auditability and efficiency of well-established batch jobs even when making minor adjustments.
  • Comprehensive Audit Controls – Every job submitted through JAMS retains a detailed audit trail ensuring that highly regulated IT departments have access to relevant information, quickly. JAMS 6.1 captures important audit details related to job triggers and dependencies, such as time, status and network availability.

“JAMS 6.1 provides IT operations professionals with powerful scheduling capabilities that would ordinarily require the skills of a developer,” says David Kluskiewicz, VP Marketing at MVP. “This release gives them access to time-saving workflows and advanced business logic in an uncomplicated format.”

The latest JAMS release also includes comprehensive support for the latest version of Symitar Episys® and a number of usability enhancements requested by the company’s growing community of users.
